Freight Mart International reminds clients to declare production assist charges on commercial invoices

In case you missed our news.
The Australian Border Force has found discrepancies between invoices and evidence of money paid for goods, so clients need to be extra vigilant when declaring these charges.

Production assist charges include free of charge items, extra payments, tooling costs, printing plates, and design artwork.

Clients should declare these charges to their broker and include them in the customs entry.

Visit our previous announcement for more details.

New Biosecurity Fees and Charges

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry has completed a review of biosecurity cost recovery arrangements. The new fees and charges will commence on 1st July 2023.

In the transition to the new fees and charges, you may see changes to your invoice. There will be new prices, new codes, and in some cases, new descriptions. You may also see an old and a new price list for the same service depending on when the regulatory activities were carried out.

Learn more about the new biosecurity fees and charges here.

Freight Mart International Attends State Conference to Stay Ahead of the Curve

The Customs team at Freight Mart International attended a state conference on 24th June, hosted by the Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA). The conference was a valuable opportunity for the team to stay ahead of the curve in the ever-changing customs landscape.

The conference covered a wide range of topics, including:

  • The upcoming changes to the European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA)
  • The role of trusted insiders in facilitating the import of illicit substances and cash
  • The increasing costs of production assistance

The team also had the opportunity to network with other customs professionals and learn about new trends in the industry.

The Freight Mart International Customs team is grateful for the opportunity to attend the FTA conference. They believe that the knowledge and skills they gained will help them to provide their customers with the best possible service.

They also appreciated the helpfulness and professionalism of our staff.
