Customs Tariff Changes – 1st January 2023
From 1st January 2023, the preferential tariff rates for some Peruvian-origin goods, RCEP-origin goods, and Indian-origin goods will be reduced.
Peru-Australia Free Trade Agreement (PAFTA): Effective 1st January 2023, all goods originating in Peru will be subject to a tariff rate of “Free”.
Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP): Effective 1st January 2023, the preferential rates of customs duty for some RCEP originating goods will be reduced to 4%, 2% or 1%.
Australia-India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA): Effective 1st January 2023, the preferential rates of customs duty on certain Indian origin goods that are not free from the 29th of December will be reduced to 3%.

Chinese New Year Holiday Closures
Chinese New Year 2023 (Lunar New Year) will be on 22nd January, Sunday, starting a year of the Rabbit.
With the Chinese New Year approaching, we would like to remind you, our customers, that China offices, suppliers, carriers, Government services (i.e. Customs), and transport operators will be closed for the Lunar Festival (or operated by skeleton staff).

Gift Exchange
When the calendar flips to December, the whole world starts focusing on gift-giving. No matter if the main celebration of the month is a religious one, such as Christmas, or if it simply revolves around friends, food, and family, gift-giving and receiving is top of mind.
