India-Australia Free Trade Agreement (ECTA)
The Australia-India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA) will come into force on 29th December 2022.
According to the Australian government, the agreement’s entry into force before the new year has the double benefit of two consecutive tariff cuts, once when the agreement takes effect, and again on 1st January 2023.
The agreement is expected to save exporters about A$2 billion in tariffs, while benefiting businesses and consumers, with about A$500 million in tariff reductions on imported goods.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said that the agreement is the next step in elevating our relationship with India, the world’s fastest-growing large economy.

What do you do in your spare time? What is that when you have young children… but when I do find the time I love to catch up with friends, go for a walk or go for a drive with the family (always an adventure)
Sports – Playing or watching – both or neither? Love watching the footy – Go Doggies!! And enjoy watching tennis too

Who inspires you? My husband and children of course, but also my parents, they continue to be so strong and resilient
Biggest Fear? I’m not great with anything creepy crawly but also fear loss and failure
When you were a kid what did you want to be when you grew up? Ohh I wanted to be a spice girl back in the day… Singer/Dancer!

Freight Mart International is proud to be a major sponsor of the Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League team, the Perth Inferno
We would like to congratulate the Perth Inferno for walking away with a 9-6 win in their first home game of the 2022/23 season against the Sydney Sirens.
Freight Mart International support the development of various community youth sports, amateur sports, and charities. We wish the Perth Inferno team all the best for their next games in Adelaide on the 7th and 8th of January 2023.

Here at Freight Mart, we are always excited as Christmas approaches because it’s the time of year when we send gifts to our customers to thank them for their wonderful support.

Thank You for making Freight Mart International Golf Day 2022 a success!
The 2022 Freight Mart International Golf Day was a resounding success and many of our valued customers had a fun day out at the Royal Fremantle Golf Club last Friday 2nd December 2022.
Freight Mart International customers and employees alike enjoyed the occasion, the weather was amazing, with RFGC putting on a great spread after the days play. It’s just a shame the standard of golf didn’t match the level of enjoyment out on the course.
We really appreciate everyone’s participation and support for what is going to become a regular fixture on the Freight Mart calendar. We look forward to seeing the same faces next year along with some new ones no doubt!
Freight Mart International Annual Christmas Dinner 2022
Freight Mart held their 2022 Christmas party at the Esplanade Hotel in Fremantle, and amongst the guests were staff from all of the satellite offices in Melbourne, Malaysia, and Thailand which was even more special given the inability for anyone to travel over the past 3 years.
It has been another long year so everyone enjoyed some festive cheer, and it’s always nice having the opportunity to socialise outside our normal work environment & thank the staff for their efforts during the year.
On the night, there were some prestigious awards given to a select few staff who have been with Freight Mart for 10yrs or more. The award winners were Kevin Chua (13yrs), Jerome Gallagher (12yrs), Phil Pengilly (10yrs), and Anlly Li (10yrs). Our MD Billy Reader was glowing in his praise for all the staff, but especially these 4 who have formed the backbone of our business for a long time now.
We would like to reiterate our thanks to all of them for their dedication & loyalty during their time with Freight Mart, and let’s look forward to another 10yrs of service.
There was another award given on the night to our Customs Manager Sarah Langford, in recognition of her efforts in registering Freight Mart as an accredited Trusted Trader by Home Affairs with the Australian Border Force. Although there is a laborious drawn-out application process, we believe the benefits it will bring to our customers makes the hard work all worthwhile, so once again thanks to Sarah for her dedication in her role as Customs Manager at Freight Mart International.
